All that we wanted was two quiet weeks at the beach enjoying the late autumn sunshine.....a chance to introduce Elizabeth to the delights of eating sand.....Brendo had done all of his research and the tides and moon looked favourable- there was great fishing to be had...it sounded too good to be true.....well it was. What we got was flooding rain, gale force winds, beaches closed due to raw sewerage....and that was just the first week. Then, just as the weather started to turn good and I heaved a sigh of relief that it looked like Brendo could actually use his boat for fishing rather than our escape vehicle in the rising flood waters...I ended up at Caloundra Hospital early one Sunday moring with a bulging disc in my back. So our second week was spent with me flat on my back and Brendan shuttling me to and from physio appointments and playing Mr. Mum.
So it wasn't exactly the holiday we planned, but we managed to have a few fun times in amongst the misery. Get your umbrellas out- we've planned another beach holiday in November- consider yourselves warned!

What else is there to do when it's been pouring rain for days? Push Oprah around in her car!

The rain stopped for a minute, so we had a morning at Australia Zoo. Joseph loved feeding the elephant. Lucky that it was a quiet day so he could have about ten turns- he had no fear at all.

The day that we were due to go home was the beautiful day that we'd been hoping for for two weeks, so we stopped packing for a while and headed to the park for a play.
