A visit to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

A few weekends ago we took Joseph down to Currumbin to see all of the animals at the Wildlife Sanctuary. We started with the birds seeing as Joseph likes feeding the parrots at Grandma's house.

Joseph liked the birds from this distance....
...and didn't mind them a little bit closer....
...but was not really fond of them this close....

...and definitely didn't like them this close...

And here is an example of Mum's great photography skills- see the bird about to land on Joseph's head.....

...and now see it flying away....it's just a shame that Mum missed the split second when it was actually on Joseph's head.

Bike Boy

Santa brought Joseph this bike for Christmas, but it took him a few months to grow into it. Now, he lives on it & wants to spend every afternoon hooning down the driveway. He can get up quite a bit of speed and his steering is impressive- there's only been a few crashes into the wall!

Feeding time at the zoo

Like his little friend Daniel, Joseph has an over inflated view of his dining skills. He's a determined self feeder, and what he lacks in skill is definitely made up for in enthusiasm. I'm not really sure why I even bother with the bib anymore- I think it would be better to just feed him outside and hose him down after each meal.
Here's a few examples of the typical carnage....

Apologies.....

Joseph would like to apologise that he hasn't updated his blog for a few weeks. He's just been a bit busy taking important calls on his remote controls.......

Fun with Godmum

It was our fifth wedding anniversary recently so Joseph's Godmother, Bronwen, offered to babysit so that we could have a night out. The two of them had a great time playing cars and reading books. We thought that Joseph might be upset when we left but he didn't even bat an eyelid.
An aside- Bron doesn't usually babysit in a pink satin dress, but she thought she'd try and recreate some of our wedding atmosphere by wearing her bridesmaid dress......and five years later it still fits.....

Still a Coffee Connoisseur

Jospeh still loves a good babycino every time we go to a cafe. He's even started asking for a 'cuppa cocky' when Brendan makes one for me in the mornings.

Catching up....

Well, it's been a long time between posts for me. I can blame going away on holidays, being sick for a few weeks, endless computer problems but it's probably mainly due to my laziness.

Anyway, in an attempt to catch up, here are some pics of Joseph on holidays at the Sunshine Coast way back in April....

Checking out the manta rays at Underwater World

Seeing what it's like to be a fish inside a tank at Underwater World

Trying out life as a spitfire pilot.

Not too sure about the train ride at the Big Pineapple

Anatomy 101 with Joseph

Joseph has learnt some of his body parts and loves to point them out when prompted. He takes this all very seriously and thinks that he's very clever.

Mouth....always involves fingers inside his mouth, apparently just pointing next to his mouth is not accurate enough.

Tummy...Joseph's favourite & has to include pinching his tummy and giving it a few slaps for good luck.

Head

Eyes....my favourite as Joseph will, without fail, poke out at least one eye to demonstrate where they are.

Hosing Fun...

Joseph is definitely an outside boy. He loves to be out in the yard 'helping' Dad. He has a particular fascination with hoses and water at the moment and had a lovely afternoon of hosing the other week.

Hosing is FUN!

Finally, Joseph gets on with the job at hand.
