Seven Months Old

The last month has been a busy one for Joseph. He's getting better at sitting up which means he eats in his high chair now. He's also on the move. In the last week Joseph has started to wriggle around the floor to get where he wants to go. It's more like the 'caterpiller' break dancing move than crawling, but it's quite effective in getting him around. Joseph's first three teeth have also come through in the last week, and thankfully their arrival didn't seem to bother him too much.

Seven months old

Joseph's as big as his bear now

Taking his seven month photos was more difficult than previous months- Joseph was more interested in testing out his new teeth on the chair than posing for Mummy

Getting better at sitting up now - although he'd much prefer to be on his tummy
Joseph likes to sleep holding on to something-usually the side of the cot- here it's the seatbelt in the car

Happy to be able to get where he wants to go now

Finally getting some use out of his high chair

Afternoon at Shelly Beach

While we were at Caloundra for the week we spent an afternoon at Shelly Beach- mainly so that Oprah could have a good run around, but Joseph enjoyed himself too.
As babies do, Joseph ate quite a lot of sand.....
...but wasn't too thrilled with the taste

Slowly but surely covering himself in sand

Oprah stopped her crazy running around for a minute to come and visit

Not too sure about the waves

Something new- green grass

After our trip to Hong Kong, we went up to Caloundra for a week so Joseph was able to discover something that we don't have in Brisbane at the moment....green grass. He'd lie and look at it for ages.

Joseph's Trip to Hong Kong

Well after a lot of planning and worrying (on my behalf), we had a great week in Hong Kong. Joseph travelled well on the plane trips- even sleeping the whole way home. At first I think Joseph found all the sights and noises a bit too much, but by the end of the week he would happily sleep in his stroller on the train, at the markets or in the busiest yum cha restaurants.

Joseph with our tailor Linda. Linda has two grandsons but they live in Japan, so she adopted Joseph as her Australian grandson. Joseph loved her and would have great conversations with 'Popo' (Grandma) Linda in Cantonese.

Joseph's cot at the hotel was all laid out with baby toiletries and nappies

Relaxing by the pool- just waiting for someone to bring him his pina colada
That little spot is Joseph in the pool with Daddy

Having fun in the pool

Helping Popo Linda choose some dim sum

Joseph slowing us down at the Jade Market. Everytime that we went out people would stop us to talk to the baby. Everyone always commented on his eyes and they all thought that he was very big for six months old. Waiting to catch the Star Ferry back to Hong Kong island

Can't get enough of the big bed

A lot of Hong Kong's foot paths aren't stroller friendly, so poor Brendan had to carry the stroller around a lot of the time.

Not too sure about the tram ride up to the Peak

Looking at the lights of Hong Kong island

By the end of the week Joseph was a real Hong Kong baby- he could sleep soundly in the busiest Yum Cha restaurant

Enjoying some more pool time on a very clear Hong Kong day

Fun with Daddy on the Star Ferry

What view? I'd rather eat my foot
On the subway
The bassinet on the plane home was even smaller than the one going over. Good thing he wasn't any bigger than he is or there's no way he would have fit in there. Definitely no room to roll over!
