Icecream!

Joseph had his first real taste of icecream when he took over my drumstick yesterday. Needless to say he loved it, but I'm not happy about having to share!

Merry Christmas!

Joseph really enjoyed Christmas Day yesterday. He's still too little to get into the whole Santa thing, but he had a great time playing with his new toys and everyone that came to visit. He enjoyed Christmas lunch too- he'll be disappointed with vegemite sandwiches for lunch now that he's tried prawns, bugs and smoked salmon!

Ready to get into his Santa sack.

Trying out his new bike from Santa.

Practising his standing. Joseph doesn't walk yet, but will take more and more steps at a time, so we don't think he's too far off.

Everything that Joseph likes gets kisses at the moment. Joseph learnt how to kiss from Oprah though- so it's all open mouth and tongue- very sloppy!

Opening more presents with cousin Will on Christmas night.

Busy, busy, busy

We've been busy lately with lots of parties for the festive season. Joseph had a great time at his friend William's third birthday the other week. William's Mum and Dad arranged for some African drummers to come along and teach the kids. Once Joseph stopped eating the instruments and stealing the drumsticks from the other kids, he had a great time.
It takes a lot of concentration to be an African drummer!

Joseph has also been busy meeting two brand new cousins. Firstly, we went up to Meet my sister Dianne and her husband Leighton's new baby, Jackson, who was born on 14th December.

Joseph wasn't too interested in posing with the baby, but here's a photo of Jackson.

Then we went up to Coolum to meet Poppy, who is Brendan's sister Melissa and her husband Phil's five week old baby. Poppy slept for most of the day, but Joseph had a great time playing with his other cousins Chloe, Dylan and Will. They are all down from Blackwater to spend Christmas in Brisbane.

Here's Joseph with his cousins Will, Chloe and Dylan. Baby Poppy was asleep at photo time.

Finally, Oprah went for a haircut yesterday and came back looking very pretty with a bow in her hair. Here's Joseph checking out the bow, just before he ripped it out of poor Oprah's hair.

Visiting Santa Claus

Joseph wasn't too impressed with visiting Santa this year.....

Looks like Santa has just told Joseph that he didn't make it onto the list of good little boys this year!

Joseph's newest toy

As expected, Joseph is a big fan of the new toy that has arrived- the Christmas tree. The fence we've put around it doesn't act as much of a deterrent for pulling off ornaments, so the decorations at Joseph height are getting fewer by the day.

Joseph can't take his eyes off the tree.

Coffee Connoisseur

Joseph has developed quite a taste for babycinos lately- must be from too many Saturday morning coffee runs with Dad. Joseph doesn't like to eat the froth with a spoon- he has to drink it- ensuring lots of mess.

November....

It's been a long while since my last post- November was a busy month! Here's what Joseph's been up to.....

Pulling everything off the front of the fridge is always a favourite pastime
As is emptying the bathroom cupboards.

Joseph loves the water, so swimming with Dad is a big hit.

Thirteen months old now. Finally Joseph is getting some hair, and another four teeth this month.

Visiting the ducks (and ibis) at the Botanic Gardens

Joseph can't walk by himself yet, but he spends all day pushing this fire truck around the house. He constantly pushes the buttons on the handlebar to play the song- I can't sleep some nights because "I see a fire truck...." keeps going around in my head.
